Use the Peel District School Board's School Finder for public schools and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board directory for Catholic schools, entering the exact address you're considering. Then confirm it directly with the board before you rely on it.
Why there's no list on this page
This is the honest reason, and it's the same reason you should distrust the lists you find elsewhere:
- Boundaries change. Boards adjust catchments as enrolment shifts and as schools open, close or hit capacity. A list published in 2024 may be wrong now.
- They're confirmed at registration, not before. Whatever a website says, the board's decision at registration is the one that counts.
- Capacity can override the map. A school at capacity can mean students within the boundary are accommodated elsewhere.
- It's address-specific, not neighbourhood-specific. Peel Village is large enough that two homes in it can be zoned differently.
If I published a list, it would be a page that is accurate today and quietly wrong in eighteen months — with my name on it, in front of a family who made a several-hundred- thousand-dollar decision partly because of it. Not worth it to either of us.
Never buy a house on a school claim in a listing
Listing remarks and third-party real estate sites routinely name schools. Those claims are not verified by anyone, they are frequently out of date, and no one is accountable for them.
If a specific school is a real factor in your decision, call the board with the address before your offer goes firm and get the answer from them. It takes one phone call. Make it a condition of your own process, not an assumption.
What to ask when you call
- Which elementary and which secondary school is this exact address currently zoned for, for both English public and Catholic?
- Is that school currently at or over capacity, and are in-boundary students being accommodated elsewhere?
- Is there any boundary review underway that would affect this address?
- Is there busing for this address, or is it within walking distance under the board's policy?
- If French Immersion matters: where is the nearest programme, how do you apply, and is it a lottery? Immersion is a separate application and is usually not tied to your home school.
Write down who you spoke to and when. That note is worth having.
The wider picture
Peel Village sits in south Brampton, an established part of the city where schools have been in place for decades rather than being built alongside new subdivisions. Practically, that usually means schools are nearby and long-established rather than brand new and overflowing — but "usually" is not "for your address," which is the entire point of this page.
Both the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board serve the area. There are also independent and private options in Brampton; those have their own admissions and no catchment at all.
The two-minute version: run the finder, then phone the board and get it confirmed for your address. Believe the board. Believe nobody else, including me.
